Family Conferences for Grades 1-5
Join us at school this Monday, August 29th. Doors will be open all day, from 8:00-3:00. Our teachers will be taking lunch at different times between 11:00-12:00, so please plan accordingly if you are wanting to meet someone specific.
This is our Family Conference day for grades 1-5. Come when you can to meet your new teacher and see the school facility. We will have some big 5th graders on hand to help with tours, and other staff will be available to help you around as well.
Kindergarten
Parents of kinders, your child’s teacher will be calling you soon. There is no need to come to school on Monday to meet your teacher. Instead, your teacher will be calling you to set up a conference time during the week of the 29th.
September 6th is the first day of school for Kindergarten.
School Supplies
A recent Anchorage News broadcast calculated that Alaskan households pay an average of $864 every year in school supplies and other school related items. In an effort to make your Kodiak public education more accessible, KIBSD has focused funding on school supplies. There is no “barrier to entry” for accessing education in our schools. There is no supply list for parents to purchase, instead we are asking Peterson parents to get involved in your child’s education. Sign up to volunteer. Work with your child’s teacher to read with students. Sign up to be a substitute teacher.
Breakfast and Lunches
The universal free breakfast and lunch programs have ended. If you are a family in need of assistance, please visit the Food Services homepage for additional details on how to participate in the free and reduced meals program.
